Since 2011, a Rothschild Foundation Task Force has been working with the National Institute for Building Sciences to develop a set of low vision standards for the design and operational procedures for new and existing buildings in the U.S. These new guidelines will be submitted for adoption by the International Code Council (ICC) for the 2018 edition of the International Building Code (IBC). An initial set of guidelines, Design Guidelines for the Visual Environment , is available free of charge on the NIBS website. Design for Aging (DFA) encourages its members and visitors to learn about the various task forces established through the Mayer-Rothschild Foundation
